World Cards define the setting, global conditions, and shared objectives for each game of Eve of Midnight: Reimagine Calamity. They shape the game state, introduce thematic challenges, and create unique victory paths that align with the lore of their respective worlds. World Cards are central to gameplay, adding depth and variety while influencing player strategies.


Core Attributes of a World Card

  1. Global Effect:
    • A static rule or mechanic that applies to all players throughout the game.
    • Example: “Reve (World Effect): At the start of each player’s turn, they may draw 1 additional card.”
  2. World Objective:
    • A shared goal that players can compete to achieve for an alternate victory condition.

  3. World Tasks:
    • Challenges or opportunities tied to the World Card, drawn from a shared deck.

Gameplay Integration

    • Shuffle World Tasks (specific to the selected World) into a shared deck.
