What is an Advanced Resource Card?
An Advanced Resource Card provides specialized energy or effects tied to specific archetypes, themes, or mechanics. Advanced Resources are more powerful than Basic Resources but often come with unique conditions or synergies that make them a key part of strategic play.
How to Play an Advanced Resource Card
- Playing an Advanced Resource:
- During your Resource Allocation Phase, you may play one Advanced Resource Card from your hand.
- Once played, the Advanced Resource is added to your resource pool and becomes available for use.
- Adding to the Resource Pool:
- Advanced Resources can be used immediately during the same turn to pay for costs or activate their unique effects.
How to Use an Advanced Resource Card
- Channeling:
- Like Basic Resources, Advanced Resources must be channeled to pay for costs or activate abilities. Flip the card face-down when it is used.
- Channeled Advanced Resources remain unavailable until refreshed at the start of your next turn.
- Paying Specialized Costs:
- Many powerful Support Cards or character abilities require Advanced Resources as part of their cost.
- Example: “Spend 2 Arcane Resources and 1 Basic Resource to play this Support Card.” Flip two Advanced Arcane Resource cards and one Basic Resource card face-down.
- Triggering Unique Effects:
- Some Advanced Resources have additional effects when played or channeled.

When Are Advanced Resources Discarded?
- Normally, Advanced Resource Cards Are Not Discarded:
- Once played, Advanced Resource Cards remain in your resource pool for the rest of the game, refreshing each turn.
- Special Cases:
- Certain Support Cards, Situations, or abilities may cause Advanced Resources to be discarded or destroyed.
- Example: “Support Card: Energy Flux – Discard one Advanced Resource Card from your opponent’s pool.”
